What is Geoffrey?

Your Geoffrey House Manager is your dedicated household concierge and operating partner. They find and vet vendors, book and coordinate every service, are physically present when your household needs someone there, supervise and inspect the work, and keep a household dossier so nothing has to live in your head.

What does a House Manager actually do?

Whatever running your household requires. Coordinating cleaners, repairs, and maintenance. Meeting the dog groomer when you are in a meeting you cannot leave. Turning a long unstructured school email into dates in a calendar and tasks that are handled. Managing your existing vendors alongside ours. Organizing a dinner, a move, or a renovation. Geoffrey is not the person who does everything. Geoffrey is the person who makes sure everything gets done.

Is there a limit to what I can ask for?

We do not publish a scope list. Your House Manager either does it, or finds and manages the specialist who does. What you are buying is not a fixed number of hours; it is the guarantee that the outcome happens.

How often will my House Manager be at my home?

Accepted Answer

Typically a couple of visits a week, more when something is happening, with everything else handled by message, call, and app. Your House Manager is on call within your area rather than resident in your home.

How many households does my House Manager serve?

Accepted Answer

Never more than five, all in your neighborhood. That cap is deliberate. It is what allows the service to feel dedicated, and it is why your price depends on how many neighbors share your House Manager. Occasionally two households want something at the same moment, and we handle that by being transparent about it: 11:00 at your neighbor's, 11:30 at yours.

How do I become a member?

By invitation. Request one and we will call to understand how your household runs today, tell you honestly whether we can serve your neighborhood now or later, and walk you through pricing for your area before you commit to anything.

What areas does Geoffrey serve?

Accepted Answer

The San Francisco Bay Area today, and we launch neighborhood by neighborhood rather than city by city, because a House Manager has to be able to physically reach every household they serve. Put your ZIP code into the neighborhood check and you will get one of three answers. Either we have a House Manager placed near you and the next step is an introduction. Or we are forming a neighborhood around you, in which case you would be a Founding Household: the first home in your cluster, with something close to a dedicated House Manager from the start. Or we are not in your area yet, and telling us where you are is how we decide where to go next. New York is the next market and opens once there is enough committed demand there and a vetted House Manager in place.

What is the Household Operations Reset?

The two to three weeks after you sign, when your House Manager sits with your household and builds your dossier together: family and pets, the home and its systems, warranties and insurance, medical and allergy notes, preferences and standards, existing vendors, and access rules. It is not data entry: it is how your household's way of running gets written down.

Do I need the app?

The Geoffrey app is provisioned for you during onboarding and it is where you approve things, see what is happening today, and read your Sunday Briefing. But you can also just call or text your House Manager. The app is a convenience, not the product.

Who is my House Manager and how are they vetted?

Accepted Answer

A Geoffrey employee, hired to an executive-assistant standard: organized, tool-fluent, discreet, and genuinely attentive. Every House Manager is background-checked and referenced before assignment, and we share that vetting with you.

What happens if my House Manager is sick, on holiday, or leaves?

Accepted Answer

Nothing you have to manage. Your household dossier lives in Geoffrey's system rather than in one person's head, and House Managers are clustered by neighborhood so they can cover for each other. When someone covers, you are told who and for how long, their access is time-bound, and your open requests transfer with them. You are never hostage to one person's brain, which is something no private hire can offer.

Can I hire my House Manager directly?

We would rather you did not, and most members find they do not want to. Your House Manager is good partly because of what is behind them: a vetted vendor network you cannot replicate on a marketplace, a backup when they are away, the dossier, the guarantee, and a company that trains and supports them. Hire them away and you get one person with no bench, and you become their employer.

How is my House Manager paid?

A full-time salary, never commission. Commission would push them toward booking more services and padding hours rather than looking after your household. Their pay is aligned to staying with you, not to spending your money.

How is my membership set?

Accepted Answer

Two things set it. The first is how many neighboring households share your House Manager: as a qualified neighbor joins the cluster and their membership takes effect, your monthly price steps down, and we confirm the change and its effective date in writing. The second is how much of your House Manager's in-person time is yours. Coordination is unlimited at every level, so whatever your household needs found, booked, supervised, and followed up is simply handled; what the membership sets is how much time they spend in your home. Changing your membership never changes your House Manager. The same person stays with your household, because the relationship and everything they know about how your home runs is the thing you are actually buying. We walk you through the numbers for your neighborhood on the first conversation.

Do I pay for services on top of the membership?

Yes. Vendors are paid for their work, and Geoffrey adds a deliberately thin margin on third-party services. We keep it thin on purpose: a large markup would show up in your transaction history and turn your House Manager into a salesperson.

Can I have a House Manager entirely to myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Some households want their House Manager dedicated permanently rather than shared, and we quote that arrangement separately.

Can I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Membership is a monthly agreement. Speak to us and we will walk you through the terms, which are provided in full before you sign.

How does access to my home work?

Accepted Answer

Entirely on your terms. Grant your House Manager a digital entry code you can change or revoke at any time, hand over a key, or neither: many members simply let Geoffrey in when they are home. You can change your mind at any point.

How do vendors get in?

Accepted Answer

Usually your House Manager lets them in and stays for the parts that matter. When a vendor needs their own access, they receive a credential for that visit alone, which expires afterward, and every entry is logged.

Are vendors vetted and insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every vendor in the network passes background checks, license verification, insurance confirmation, and reference checks, and we remove any vendor that falls out of compliance. Your House Manager also supervises and inspects their work.

What is the Property Protection Guarantee?

Accepted Answer

If something goes wrong during work Geoffrey coordinated, we handle it. You report it to your House Manager, we investigate, and we make it right. Full terms are provided with your membership agreement.

Who can see my household information?

Accepted Answer

Your House Manager, their named backup when they are covering, and the Geoffrey staff who support them. Vendors receive only what they need for the job in front of them, never your dossier. Sensitive items such as access credentials are permissioned separately and every view is auditable.
